If you are going to work out, you might as well make it count! No matter if you are doing personal training, small group training, or any type of fitness training with us in Richmond, Cloverdale, or Walnut Grove. The key to losing weight, getting fit, lean and toned would to learn to get the most out of your work out each and every single time.
Here are 5 Ways to Make the Most Out of Your Workout Session
1) Be Intentional
You set aside time in your day to workout, so focus on the exercises instead of thinking about other things like what you need to do later, groceries, work, etc.
That is why joining a personal training program or group training program can be the key to establishing accountability and a routine.
Think about engaging the muscle groups you want to work to create that mind-body connection. If you just go through the motions without really thinking about how you are moving, you may not get the most benefit from your workout.
That is the reason why during our personal training and group training sessions in all of our locations (Richmond, Cloverdale, Walnut Grove), our trainers are always there to constantly remind our clients to maintain that mind-body connection.
2) Pre-Workout Nutrition
Make sure you fuel your body properly before your workout. Working out on an empty stomach may make you feel tired too early into your session while having a large meal before your workout may make you feel sick. Therefore, plan your meals around your workout ensuring that you have enough energy to power through.
A big part of our weight loss AND muscle building program in Gyms in Cumming GA around making all of our personal training and group training clients understand how to fuel their bodies the right way.
3) Hydrate
Drinking enough water is just as important as properly nourishing your body. Make sure to drink water consistently throughout the day, before your workout, during and afterward. Take small sips during your workout, as too much can lead to cramps. If your pet isn’t clear, then you are likely not drinking enough water.
4) Focus on Your form First, not the Weight or Speed
Having correct form during your workout is key to receiving the most benefit from the exercise. Choose challenging weights, but remember to always check your form first. If the weight gets too heavy, do not be afraid to lighten it in order to get the proper form. Also, it is better to do slow controlled reps with proper form, rather than fast reps with incorrect form. Going too quickly without proper form can lead to injury. Usually, Richmond Gym has mirrors so that you can check your form. When performing exercises, ask yourself – Am I engaging my core? Is my posture correct? Am I keeping my shoulders down and back? The more you pay attention to your form, the better you will get at the exercises.
5) Remember to Breathe
Do not hold your breath throughout your workout. Remember to breathe every single rep – in through your nose and out through your mouth. Not breathing properly can make you feel light-headed or tired early on in your workout. You want to have enough energy in your muscles to stay strong until the end!
